Behind the scenes, the couple’s dynamic was quite different from how they were portrayed on the show. Although Sunny works, he is not financially independent and he helps his father in his trading business and relies on him for everything. According to Veah’s recent Instagram story, Sunny’s dad pays him in bottles of shampoo and soap at the end of each month instead of real money, as it’s a family business and in his culture, children are expected to work for their parents for free.

This financial dependency meant that Veah had to cover all the expenses for their trips in South Africa, including paying for the hotels and literally everything else. She even confessed on Instagram that she paid for her own engagement ring, which Sunny bought using her money. To make matters worse, Sunny’s dad doesn’t like Veah and doesn’t accept her beliefs and culture. He was only willing to give her a chance if she agreed to convert to Islam, but Veah was against that due to her childhood trauma. She was adopted by a very religious family at a young age, which made her life a living hell at the time.

In a short clip from the upcoming Before the 90 Days Season 7 Tell All, Sunny revealed to host Shaun Robinson that he caught Veah cheating on him with a guy she claimed was just a friend. The cheating incident seemed to be a classic case of a woman who, while already having a partner, also has a male best friend. When she consistently fights with her partner and is in a vulnerable place, the male friend makes a move, and the woman falls for it and cheats on her partner. This revelation has cast a shadow over their relationship, making it clear that there is no future for Sunny and Veah together as a couple.

With their relationship in shambles, Sunny will likely have to go back under his dad’s thumb or risk being cut off and potentially becoming homeless in South Africa. According to Veah, it’s hard to make money and find a job there, which was the main reason why Sunny was working for his dad and wanted to move to the USA for better employment opportunities.
