Beyond the Gates3‘Beyond the Gates’ Cast Jason Vendryes as Mysterious Stranger Who Keeps an Eye on Martin and Vernon
Jason Vendryes has been added to CBS daytime’s newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates in the recurring role of Kenny. The actor is set to make his BTG debut sometime in May. Deadline first broke the casting news.
As viewers will soon see, Kenny will be keeping a close watch on Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) for reasons unknown, but the smart thinking his arrival on the scene ties into whatever traumatic event involved Martin, that his grandparents Vernon and Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), are trying to keep under the radar while Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) had been using it to blackmail the family.
If Vendryes looks familiar you may have seen him in the BET series Ruthless. He is also set to appear in the film, One Spoon of Chocolate. In addition, some of his previous credits include” the Tyler Perry series Too Close to Home, Amazon’s Living V and OWN’s Ambitions (which was written by Jamey Giddens, who now has joined the writing team of Beyond the Gates.)

With Beyond the Gates shooting all-new episodes and its studios in Atlanta, Georgia, it would seem Vendryes will be right at home having appeared in Tyler Perry series and OWN’s Ambitions, which have shot there as well.

It is produced by the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, led by Sheila Ducksworth, in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble.
Soap veteran, Michele Val Jean is the series creator, head writer, executive producer and showrunner. Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS at 2pm ET/1pm PT and streams on Paramount+.
