How do you know when you’re a hit show that just keeps growing more popular every week? No, that’s not a riddle — but it is something Beyond the Gates‘ Sean Freeman can answer. As we head into CBS’ smash soap’s second month, people are definitely sitting up and taking notice, not just of the soap, but of Freeman and Andre!
The actor took a beat in the middle of the mall earlier in the week to share a video on his Instagram stories, writing, “It’s starting. A whole family stopped me weeks ago while I was eating solo at a restaurant here in my neighborhood and sang out praises for BTG. Then today, I was stopped in Lenox Mall.”
The mall encounter? Yeah, he shared that directly as he walked through the mall in the video.
“I’m currently in Lenox Mall right now,” he explained, “and someone says, ‘Hey you, we love the show!’ So I turn around and there’s a guy back there who works at a store, talked about the show, told me everything about my character. He told me to let all the cast know that he’s a fan. They tape it every day and, yeah, just wanted to share that with y’all.”
It doesn’t get much sweeter than that!
People aren’t just taking notice, they’re fully invested in what Freeman and the folks at Beyond the Gates are doing. Or, as Andre’s portrayer put it at the end of his caption on the video: “Safe to say the people are watching the show and loving their ‘stories.’ Any bodyguards available?? Nah, I’m kidding — well, sorta.”
