Beyond the Gates Exclusive: Karla Mosley Admits She May Just Be the Villain — and ‘It Feels So Good’

If there’s one thing we learned from Beyond the Gates’ extended trailer, it’s that Karla Mosley is going to be responsible for a whole lot of action as she kicks off the show playing jilted, angry lover, Dani Dupree. Actually, we could tell right from the show’s first teaser that she would be a blast when we saw Dani viciously attack a poor, innocent desk! (Belonging to her not-so-poor, nor innocent ex-husband, Bill.)
In fact, that’s the type of behavior that, Mosley shared with Soaps.com, is kind of scary — and more than a little liberating!
“I, in life, am actually a very polite person,” she admitted. “I’m a rule follower, and so to be able to hit things with golf clubs and be really mean to people… Sometimes I read the scripts and they give me anxiety, but then when I do them, it feels so good.”
It sounds like being “mean to people” is just the tip of the iceberg, though, as last week, Mosley shared a hilariously tantalizing clip over on her Instagram page pondering, “Is it me? Am I the drama?”
Yup, that’s Mosley lip syncing to RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ Scarlet Envy. And the answer, from what we’ve seen and heard, is Dani is very much the drama! And possibly the villain. Then again, her husband did cheat on her with his paralegal — whom he’s now engaged to — so we can’t say Dani wasn’t driven to it!
So hey, maybe this is one villain we’ll be cheering on from the start. The show is set to start at the end of the month on Monday, February 24th, and while it hasn’t even begun airing, we already can’t wait to see what happens next!
